Levy Order Description

Please note that this is a description of the levy – for actual terms and obligations, you should read the levy order.

  • There is a levy on all commercially produced feijoas, which is payable to the New Zealand Feijoa Growers Association
  • The levy is payable at the first point of sale, and is to be paid by Collection Agents (i.e. the buyer)
  • Means feijoas that are bottled, canned, dehydrated, dried, freeze-dried, frozen, or preserved; and
  • Collection agents must pay the levy and are able to recover it from growers
  • The levy is payable on all feijoas that the Collection agents buy from growers or sell on growers behalf.
  • The levy is based on the value of the feijoas, and is currently set at 3% of value.
  • All levy payer are able to have their say on how the levy is spent – opportunity is provided at each AGM when the annual budget is presented.
  • The Association will be provided with information by growers and Collection Agents in the process of collecting the levy – it only uses this information for levy collection.
